Hunter-ing for New Wellies......

For the past three years my feet have remained warm, dry and free from blisters thanks to my trusty winter friends - Hunter Wellies. Mine are the classic green, tall sort and I love them. They have trampsed across acres of fields, climbed Leith Hill & Box Hill in Surrey as well as Hambledon Hill and Hod Hill in Dorset more times than I can keep count of. Never have they let me down.
But, they are beginning to look a little 'livid in'. I quite like this lived in look but don't want to get to the point when i pull my Hunters on to walk the dog, watch my youngest son play football or walk along a soggy Thames tow path cheering my second eldest son row in a Head to find they really have given up the will to support my feet in the way i have come to rely on.
So i must purchase another pair. If wellies were to reflect their owners personalities i would not be the 'fun' sort of gal with bows, ponies, dogs, frogs or spots running riot over my lower legs. I'm more of a classic, one-colour British Racing Green, Pillar Box Red or Navy type. But then again a shiny black might be a good, 'go with anything' colour and could also pass for a riding boot. I'm looking for style, comfort, warmth & grip.
Style-wise I like tall and narrow at the calf; plain, solid, classic colours.
Comfort speaks for itself and you generally get what you pay for; don't bother with very cheap wellies they wil leave you with painful blisters and sweaty feet - yuk!
Warmth, well they have to be lined and even then I wear welly socks in winter;
Grip, this is vital especially if you're going to be wearing them in snow or icey conditions - and you will be.
Hmmm...............
